Brushwork for Hurley x Monster Children's Team Average

I recently created some loose brush lettering for Team Average – a short film presented by Hurley and Monster Children – which debuted in Los Angeles & Sydney this June. The film follows some of the world's kingpin surfers & skaters doing their thing and just being pretty damn awesome across New Zealand. It features Dylan Rieder, Natas Kaupas, Greyson Fletcher, Ryan Wilson, Jack Fardell, Alex Gray and Chippa Wilson. The various versions of my brushwork were used on the Hurley tees and in the titles of the film directed by the talented Riley Blakeway.

The Design Kids Threesome Street Exhibition

The Design Kids recently hosted the Sydney leg of their 'Threesome' show (Don't worry, no one makes out!). The exhibition was a typographic treasure hunt where a studio, graduate and student teamed up to complete a three word phrase and paste it up around the streets of Surry Hills. I  worked with two talented up-and-comers Gabby Lord and Jonathan Key. By our powers combined we created this poster to bring the Zoolander quote "Cool Story Hansel "to life. I designed the "Hansel", while Jonathan and Gabby created the "Cool" & "Story" respectively. Needless to say, this was a pretty damn fun collaboration.

A Pair and A Spare DIY Lettering

Geneva Vanderzeil – the beautiful brains behind the DIY fashion blog, A Pair and a Spare – recently asked me to create a DIY lettering tutorial for her readers. You can check out the results here and maybe even have a crack at making a  "Happy Days" card yourself. The Loop Party Post Cards

Australia's online creative work hub, The Loop, recently revamped their website and threw a party at MTV to celebrate. They asked me to design three postcards with inspirational quotes to share with the attendees. 

Monster Children Brush Lettering

In the tenth year of the magazine, Monster Children commissioned me to create a series of brush lettering examples of their logo to be used in various platforms within the brand. T-Shirts with the first design are available to purchase online from May. 

News Life Media Chalkboard Typography

News Life Media recently commissioned me to create hand rendered chalk boards to use as the backdrop for a Harvey Norman coffee machine advertorial which appeared in their lifestyle magazines including Donna Hay.
